Dr. Aisha Ali - DPsych Couns Psych, ADOS 2 Certified B.Psych (Hons)

Dr Aisha Ali is a highly experienced BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Expert witness with over 15 years experience of working within the NHS in complex care and private practice. She has extensive experience of working with individuals, couples and families presenting with complex psychological and emotional issues. Aisha provides life and performance coaching.

Aisha is driven by her passion for empowering people to be their best. She views mental and emotional difficulties as part of human nature and central and inevitable experience of human experience. Foremost carrying the burden of their difficulties can create a sense of shame and loneliness.

Her passion is to help people breakthrough from the philosophical misconceptions that people with mental illness are stigmatised with and help them to achieve wellbeing, empowerment and fulfilling interpersonal relationships.

She strongly believes that every voice matters and that everyone deserves to have their voice heard. The cornerstone to her practice is her compassion and dedication in helping people to build emotional resilience that is key to developing and improving the ability to communicate.

Aisha endeavours to help people master emotional resilience that helps them to not only ‘survive’ but ‘thrive’ in relationships, career, social, spiritual, financial and physical health.

Your first appointment is an assessment and the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the difficulties you are struggling with, your needs and the changes you wish to make that are in accordance with your life values.

Aisha will work with you to break down your problems and how these are affecting your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Aisha will also explore whether your current coping strategies are helping you or hindering you from making progress in your life. She will devise a blueprint of your difficulties to tailor a bespoke plan for how you can best resolve these.

Aisha works at the root cause of an individual’s difficulties and helps her clients to learn the skills needed to be emotionally strong, proactive and decisive. The length of treatment varies depending upon an individual’s circumstances and their needs and can range from 6-8 sessions, 10-14 sessions which is the average for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or more than 20 sessions for longer-term support. Aisha will discuss the most suitable treatment for your needs.

Aisha works with individuals, adolescents, couples and families. She will help you to identify your goals and continuously help you work towards achieving these in a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental environment. She offers treatment that is at the cutting edge of research and uses the most up to date evidence-based approaches that have been proven to be most effective to inform her practice. Treatments are delivered with powerful results.

Aisha has a special interest in working with depression, anxiety disorders, emotional disorders, autism, ADHD, borderline and personality disorders, eating disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties, body dysmorphic disorder, anger, fear of public speaking, transcultural issues and addictions.
